Baguette in a Bag
As you know, brunch is a huge thing here in New York. Yesterday, my friend and I opted for the casual, mimosa-less version at Maison Kayser on the Upper East Side. Eric Kayser has bakeries all around the world, so it’s surprising that the first American location opened just two months ago. Anyway, though they offer some simple brunch items, I opted for this baguette and a pain au chocolat. I couldn’t very well visit a popular French bakery without trying their bread and croissants, right? The concept that one should limit her intake of carbs does not exist in French bakeries.
(Note: This place gets seriously packed on weekends. Be prepared to have people reaching over and around you, other customers sitting within 6 inches of you, and plates whizzing by your head as servers frantically navigate their way through the narrow space between tables.)

Mr. Fox really enjoyed this smooth creme soda that’s made with real cane sugar! Eats & Sweets is a local cafe here in the Boulder County, with house-made baked good and food, and friendly service. All of their ice creams here are by Boulder Ice Cream. I’m so glad we decided to make a detour to try this place out on our way to the airport before heading home to LA! http://www.eatsandsweets.biz
